Tania serves as a Primary Assistant Directress in the Cherry Blossom Classroom at Absorbent Minds Montessori School in Stow, Ohio. With a degree in psychology and years of experience providing early childhood care and education, Tania brings warmth, patience, and an understanding of child development to the Montessori classroom. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to explore the world around them.
A Background in Psychology & Early Childhood
Tania earned her degree in Psychology from The University of Akron. Her education provided a strong foundation in human development and an understanding of the many factors that influence how children learn, grow, communicate, and build relationships.
After college, Tania spent many fulfilling years in Northern Virginia, where she operated an in-home daycare. This experience allowed her to be present for her own young children while creating a fun and nurturing early learning environment for other families.
Through those years, Tania gained valuable experience supporting young children during some of their most important developmental stages.
Creating a Nurturing Learning Environment
Tania believes children learn best when they feel secure, valued, and confident in their surroundings. Therefore, she works to create meaningful connections with each child while helping them feel comfortable exploring new experiences.
Her approach fits naturally within the Montessori Primary environment. Children are encouraged to develop independence, make purposeful choices, practice new skills, and learn through hands-on experiences.
As a Primary Assistant Directress, Tania supports the classroom community while helping children navigate both academic and everyday learning experiences.
Finding Learning in Everyday Moments
One of Tania’s favorite parts of working with young children is seeing the learning opportunities hidden within ordinary moments.
A conversation can introduce new vocabulary. A classroom responsibility can build independence. Working through a challenge can strengthen problem-solving skills and confidence.
Tania enjoys helping children recognize these opportunities while encouraging their natural curiosity. She especially values building relationships that allow her to understand each child as an individual.
Supporting the Cherry Blossom Classroom
In the Cherry Blossom Classroom, Tania works alongside the classroom teaching team to create a peaceful, engaging Montessori environment.
She supports children as they learn classroom routines, practice independence, develop social skills, and explore Montessori materials. At the same time, she helps maintain the warm sense of community that is so important during the preschool and kindergarten years.
For Tania, returning to work with children has been both exciting and meaningful. She feels privileged to once again spend her days helping young children learn and grow.
Beyond the Classroom
After her years in Northern Virginia, Tania returned home to Ohio and now lives in Stow with her husband. They have three children, who are now all in college, as well as a Havanese named Pepper.
Her years as both a mother and early childhood caregiver have given Tania a special appreciation for how quickly the early years pass. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important stage in the lives of AMMS students and their families.
