Enrichment Activities

Art: Our Creative Arts program gives students the opportunity to find joy in self-expression by creating works with their own hands. Children find the ability to use their imaginations to construct a work of art to be extremely satisfying. No matter what art medium they are using, (scissors, paint, clay, pastels, etc.) our children are exploring color & relationships, and are learning about design. Our Art activities are designed to teach children how to think creatively, critically, and independently. Students will be introduced to famous artists and their unique styles, art history, and art appreciation, and gain experience using a wide variety of art mediums. It is our goal to instill a love and appreciation for art. Every student attending on Art day will receive a 1-hour lesson.

Music: Children love listening to music, moving to music, and singing. We strive to expose our students to a variety of music genres, composers, and instruments. The children experience a wide range of musical terminology, notes, and instruments. Children learn about tones, scales, rhythms, and musicians. Our Exploring Music curriculum is fun, educational, and engaging. Every student attending Music day will receive a 1⁄2 hour lesson.

Science: Science is fun and interesting to children. They love to see things change before their eyes. It’s like watching magic tricks! Our students will participate in a wide variety of experiments while learning about the Scientific Method. They will begin to ask questions like “What happens if I…” and they will attempt to answer their question with a hypothesis. The overall goal of science at the Primary (preschool and Kindergarten) level is to teach that science is fun and all you need to do is get a little dirty. Every student attending Science day will receive a 1⁄2 hour lesson. Math is a part of science in every field! They will learn the basics like area of a circle and simple algebra along the way.

We are excited to partner with Asian Sun and have our students participate in their nationally acclaimed Program. The program focuses on improving children’s basic motor and listening skills, learning respectful behavior and courtesy, and developing self-control in a fun and motivating way. The program curriculum consists of developing 9 major skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The skills are Respect, Focus, Teamwork, Control, Balance, Memory, Discipline, Fitness, and Coordination.

Tae Kwon Do is offered as Five 6-week sessions during the school year. Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes in length. Participants test for their next rank/belt at the final class of each 6-week session. (Additional fees apply for Tae Kwon Do.)
