Administrative Assistant | Absorbent Minds Montessori School
Sara Murdock serves as the Administrative Assistant at Absorbent Minds Montessori School in Stow, Ohio. With a background in education and experience supporting students with individualized learning needs, Sara brings warmth, organization, and an understanding of children to her administrative role. As both a staff member and an AMMS parent, she has a unique appreciation for the Montessori philosophy and the school community she helps support.
Education & Experience
Sara is a graduate of Tallmadge High School and earned her degree from Kent State University. She began her career in education as a Special Education Assistant in Stow, Ohio.
Through this experience, Sara discovered how much she enjoyed working with children and helping students learn in ways that reflected their individual needs. Her time in special education gave her an appreciation for recognizing each child as an individual and understanding that children may take different paths toward growth and success.
After stepping away from education for a time to focus on raising her family, Sara eventually found her way back to a school community through a much more personal connection.
From AMMS Parent to Staff Member
Sara was first introduced to Absorbent Minds Montessori School through her own child’s experience as a student. As she watched her child learn and grow at AMMS, she developed a deeper appreciation for Montessori education and its individualized approach to learning.
Her experience as an AMMS parent gives Sara an especially valuable perspective in her administrative role. She understands the school not only from the staff side, but also through the eyes of a parent navigating school life and supporting a child’s education.
Today, Sara helps support the daily operations of AMMS while serving as a welcoming and familiar connection for students, families, and staff.
Supporting the AMMS Community
As Administrative Assistant, Sara plays an important role in helping the school run smoothly behind the scenes. Her background working with children, combined with her experience as an AMMS parent, allows her to approach her work with both understanding and care.
Whether she is assisting families, supporting teachers and administrators, or helping with the many details involved in the school day, Sara enjoys being part of a community centered around children and their development.
Her appreciation for individualized learning continues to connect strongly with the Montessori philosophy and the work taking place throughout AMMS.
Beyond the School Day
Outside of school, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their Cane Corso, Ziggy.
She also enjoys watching football, reading, exercising, and traveling. Whether spending time with her family or exploring somewhere new, Sara values the relationships and experiences that keep life full and interesting.
Sara is grateful that her family’s experience at Absorbent Minds ultimately led her to become part of the AMMS staff and to help support the school community each day.
