Peek In Our Week :: Thee Buckeye Room :: Week Of 1/19/26 to 1/23/26

Skeletal System:
This week, we looked at the skeletal system, and if we didn’t have a skeleton, we would be one messy blob on the ground (insert a flagellant sound).  We learned that the skull protects our brain, the rib cage protects our lungs, and the spine keeps us sitting and standing straight.  We learned technical terms for our arms, legs, and digits, which are called phalanges. We brought our life-sized foam puzzle into our room.  His name is Elvis because we learned about the pelvis, and it was a cool rhyming name.

A Word From Mr. John (Snow day Dance):

Did You Know (Kangaroos can NOT walk backwards)?
Kangaroos can’t walk backward due to their muscular tail and body structure. Their powerful legs and specialized muscles are adapted for forward hopping, making reverse movement tough.

Foreign Languages: Your children can now count to ten in 15 languages (English, Latin, Sign Language, Spanish, German, French, Greek, Japanese, Arabic with Lebanese dialect, Italian, Russian, Romanian, Tagalog, Hebrew, Hungarian).

This week we tested absorption between a paper towel and a diaper. This young man did not know what he was volunteering for. Do you see the stream of water hitting his head?
He is working on the Pink Tower and Brown Stair. He is working on an extension we call creations. We have a book of suggestions, but he created this all on his own.
