Primary Directress | Buckeye Classroom | Absorbent Minds Montessori School
Angela Halmy serves as the Primary Directress of the Buckeye Classroom at Absorbent Minds Montessori School in Stow, Ohio. With years of experience working in Montessori early childhood education, Angela brings a thoughtful and nurturing approach to the classroom. She is passionate about creating an environment where young children can develop independence, confidence, concentration, and a genuine love of learning.
Montessori Education & Experience
Angela earned a Master’s degree in Marketing Communication and Foreign Trade from Corvinus University in Budapest, Hungary. Later in life, her experiences as both a mother and Montessori educator led her to discover a new calling in early childhood education.
She went on to earn her Early Childhood Teacher Certificate through the Age of Montessori MACTE-accredited program, preparing her to guide children during the important early childhood years.
Before moving to Ohio in the summer of 2021, Angela lived in Texas for ten years. During that time, she spent five years working at a local Montessori school as a Primary classroom teacher-assistant. These years gave her extensive hands-on experience supporting young children within a Montessori prepared environment.
A Montessori Parent & Educator
Angela’s connection to Montessori began long before she became a Montessori educator. Before entering the classroom professionally, she spent several years as a stay-at-home mother raising her four children, all of whom attended Montessori schools.
Watching her own children learn and thrive through Montessori gave Angela a deep appreciation for the method. That personal experience eventually grew into a desire to work with children herself and became an important part of her journey into Montessori education.
One of Angela’s favorite experiences as a Montessori guide is witnessing what she describes as the “point of consciousness”—the moment when a child suddenly makes a connection or discovers something independently.
She believes children have much to teach adults about slowing down, being present, and experiencing the world with curiosity. Angela especially enjoys seeing the classroom through the eyes of her students and sharing in their natural sense of wonder and discovery.
Beyond the Classroom
Outside of school, Angela loves to travel. She has lived in and visited many countries around the world and enjoys experiencing different places and cultures.
Angela is grateful to be part of the Absorbent Minds Montessori School community and to guide the children of the Buckeye Classroom as they learn, discover, and grow.
