Peek In Our Week /// Mr. John’s Classroom /// Week Of December 2, 2019

Line Time:
We spent the majority of line time practicing for the Christmas Show.  It is going to be a rockin time

December Birthdays:
The Montessori classroom is comprised of 3 year old to 6 year old students.  Here are our newest 4 and 5 year old students.

Pastor Kirk Reads:
Pastor Kirk read a story how one tree in the Carpathian Mountains helps several animals in the forest.  Fun Fact…  My grandmother’s village in Slovakia was at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. One student blurted that that fact was not fun.

What’s The Diff?
What is the difference between bologna and baloney?

Bologna is the name of a city in Italy, pronounced “boh-LOAN-ya.” But although the sausage named after the city in English is spelled the same, it is pronounced “buh-LOAN-ee” and is often spelled baloney. Either spelling is acceptable for the sliced meat product.  P.S. I love fried bologna/baloney!!!

Cultural Subjects:
Your children can now count to ten in 17 languages (English, Latin, Sign Language, Spanish, German, French, Greek, Japanese, Arabic with the Lebanese dialect, Italian, Russian, Romanian, Swedish, Tagalog, Hebrew, Korean, Hungarian).

Peek In The Classroom:

These two boys worked with the Pink Tower and Brown Stairs. Here they matched the corresponding pieces of the Pin Tower and Brown Stairs. This deviation of the primary goal is called an extension.

This student traced, colored, and labeled the Continent Puzzle Map.

This kindergarten student is working in her binder. Specifically she is hworking on her 100 page. Her first page is from 1 to 100 then 101 to 200 and so on. Let’s see how far she gets at the end of the school year.

Theses students are working on an Albanesi Assessment. This assessment it a bridge between Montessori tracking and traditional education grading.
